How can I get help with my research project?
Answer
Whether you are just beginning to explore your topic, or finalizing your bibliography, Holy Cross librarians are available and eager to help with your research -- and there's lots of ways to connect with us!
- Chat: Visit our 24/7 online research chat on our homepage or at http://libguides.holycross.edu/ask. This chat connects you with a real librarian (no AI!) from Holy Cross, our partner Jesuit colleges and universities, or our backup service, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week except for selected federal holidays.
- Drop in: Visit the Research Desk in the Main Reading Room to speak with a Library Research Assistant or Peer Research Consultant (usually 4pm-8pm Sun-Thurs). You can find up to date drop-in hours on our website at: https://libguides.holycross.edu/ask/dropin. You can also stop by the Circulation Desks in the Dinand, Science or Music Libraries to ask a general question or be connected with an available librarian.
- Email: Contact your preferred librarian, or for the quickest response, use our shared email account, libref@holycross.edu. You'll usually receive a response within 24 hours, excepting weekends and some holidays. When classes aren't in session, you can expect a response within 24-72 hours.
- Schedule a Personal Research Session by visiting: http://libguides.holycross.edu/ask. Appointments are offered both in-person and on Zoom throughout the week, including two evenings/week after the Fall and Spring breaks. Use the online calendar to choose a time that works best for you! For basic help, students can also schedule an appointment with a Peer Research Consultant at https://libguides.holycross.edu/ask/prc.
